Afterwood is a company that has now been trading for 4 years and was founded by Jonathan Ford. After working for many years in Sawmills and manufacturing he decided that there was a gap in the market for the bi-products of sawmills; such as wood chips and pellets to be sold in eco-friendly boilers.

Over the last 5 years the country has seen a marked increase in ways to produce energy less harmful to the environment and cheaper than fossil fuels. Power stations have been built with government subsidies to produce power through the burning of large quantities of wet wood chip and this is still a buoyant market. The quantity of chips needed is always large and they do not necessarily provide the best profit as they do not need to be dried and are low cost in comparison with dried and screened wood chip.
