Afterwood is a family-run business, set-up just over 4 years ago by our director Jonathan Ford. After working for many years in horticulture and working with wood-based products, Jonathan was able to use his extensive knowledge and experience to create Afterwood. He realised very early on that renewable energy was a growing industry and could benefit the UK on a long-term basis.

Afterwood was initially started with the aim of providing wood fuel for power plants. But, we quickly realised that the demand went much further than that. Whilst power plants still feature amongst our client list, we also produce fuel and animal bedding for farms, hospitals, schools, equestrian centres, domestic dwellings and many more applications. Our emphasis has always been on excellent customer service and whether you're a home, large farm or power station - we will treat you just the same. As a valued customer!

Environmentally, due to Jonathan’s close and binding links with both the horticulture and sawmill industries we are able to to produce raw wood products locally from the timber industry. Our depots are located all across the country - meaning wherever you are - we are your local supplier. We care deeply about sustainability and try to reduce our carbon-footprint by having depots in various strategic places, so that our lorries never have too far to travel.

Afterwood is also a proud employer of local people. As the company has grown, we have taken care to extend jobs in our local areas - supporting the local economy and providing permanent income for families.
